kadyellebee: bday party minus bday girl

Saturday was to be a celebration for Lisa’s 19th birthday, which is actually on the 2nd (monday).

She hasn’t been around much lately, but we figured she’d show up for her birthday, so we left notes on her door last weekend asking what she wanted and Sarah talked to her, and Megan did too.

I went and drug Eric along to Michaels on Friday night, where I started out with one idea, and then ditched it for another one. We spent at least an hour of me running around the store finding what I hoped she would like. We’ve always been the more crafty people in the family, so buying things that I know I’d enjoy has been a good way to find things she might have fun with too. I found colors of things that made me think of her, and had really beautiful ideas for wrapping/painting the box I bought to put it in.

Come to find out, she was arrested Friday night. I don’t know what the charge was, but she was in possession of something when they found her, so that’s above and beyond whatever the initial problem was. She’s over 18, which probably means for more trouble then the last time.

It hurts my heart to have things happen like this. I felt like all of the colors was taken out of my day.

We still went and had a family meal, and playing with Leah and watching movies cheered us up some. I just wish I didn’t have to worry about stuff like this happening.
