Firebird 0.6
The latest and greatest milestone release of Mozilla’s Firebird browser has been released [download link where it says "windows installer"]! I’m trying it out right now, and it seems considerably more stable than the nightly builds I’ve tested. For those of you using the last milestone (confirmed stable) builds, the 0.5 release is from November; so its been a long time since a milestone build has come out... and lots of great additions and revisions have been made since then. If you are still unsure about switching, you should check out Reasons to switch to the Mozilla Firebird browser. Great info over there. And a while back, miss melissa posted a link to Mozilla Firebird Help, and now that’s a frequently visited site for me - the Tips and Tricks section has some nice stuff.
I’ve also been enjoying learning about the Extensions that are offered. With other browsers, they try to put in every feature that you could possibly need into the download. With Firebird, they have scaled the browser back so that you only install the extensions that YOU will use. That makes it generally faster. I’m using the All-in-one Gestures, Tabbrowser Extensions, PNH Toolbar, and a few other little things like the Link Toolbar, Mycroft for searching, and Text Links to easily go to links that don’t have the <a href=""> tags around them.
There are quite a few themes to pick from, so you have a lot of say in how the browser itself looks. I’m using Breeze, which goes really nicely with my ChosenOS skin for WinXP and Trillian.
So that’s all the evangelizing for today, but since I got to install it and get it up and running, I thought I’d share all these links while they were fresh in my mind.

Just out of curiosity, what kind of experiences have you had with StyleXP? WindowBlinds was a bad experience I don’t want to repeat.

I use breeze for my Firebird skin as well; I love it! I’ve been a big Phoenix/Firebird fan for awhile now .

Sorry 'bout that trackback noise. MT struggled with pinging the big list of links I posted and seems to have decide that each of my edits deserved a fresh hit.
