ftping
Just in case you need to know this, cuteFTP lets you see .htaccess files. If you have to download them from one server and onto another, its kinda helpful to be able to see them. Durh!
I do not like this program for regular usage, though. Not nearly as nice as my norm client, LeechFTP. But Leech has been throwing me more errors than normal, so I’ve been trying out FTPVoyager (seen at TopStyle’s site as Nick’s client of choice). Its really really nice. I’ve never had an FTP client that I’ve paid for, but this would be the one I would choose I like it a lot...
even though I’m not done with what I’m doing, I’m pooped.
.....to bed, she said....

maybe i read your post wrong Kristine, but CuteFTP let’s you see .htaccess files? i use CuteFTP and i don’t see mine. and it’s possible that i don’t have my permissions set correctly. i always keep a copy on my own hard drive as a .txt file and then when i upload it, then i rename it as such. but then it disappears. so if i want to clear it out, i have to upload a blank one.

Yeah, I did get CuteFTP to show up the .htaccess file. I had to play with it for a while, and finally I googled it and found display hidden files that explained how to filter it. So try that next time
And after all that, I *think* I ended up being able to see them in FTPVoyager. Or at least some of the time.

With Leech it’s Options > Transfers > List Command -> LIST -a
What sort of errors do you get? It’s been working really well for me. Though there does seem to be a little bit of an art to using it. It’s finicky. But I love it, and it’s free!

Hey, I’ve been using Ws Ftp which is the best - but it’s now a paid program. I was wondering if you knew of any good and free FTPs out there? I’m tired of setting back my clock, forgetting, writing emails and blog entries with the wrong date, and... you get it ;) Thanks.

I use Flash FXP (http://www.flashfxp.com), and it’s by far, the best $30 I’ve spent on a program. It’s super easy to use, and the $30 is a one time only payment - you get to upgrade to all future versions for free Good luck
