Ratchet & Clank, Jak & Daxter Sequels Due This Fall
Confirming a likelihood so likely it was off the Vegas boards, Sony Computer Entertainment America today announced new sequels in the Ratchet & Clank and Jak & Daxter series. Both games will be developed for PlayStation 2 by the expected developers—Insomniac for the one, Naughty Dog for the other—and both are slated to arrive in the fall.
Yay!!!! We are in the midst of playing Ratchet and Clank (I finished 2 (Going Commando), and so E is playing that, and I’m playing the first one now.) And Jak and Daxter was what i replayed before that. I love these games! We also got Sly Cooper when R&C was on sale, so I’m looking forward to that one next.
Didcha know that Naughty Dog (makers of Jak) and Insomniac (makers of R&C) have a sharing policy? I can’t find where I read that, but once ND came out with Jak I, the code was shared with Insomniac, who made R&C I. The enhanced code was shared back with ND, who made R&C II. And so then I would guess the even more enhanced code went back to Insomniac to work on Jak II. I don’t know if that deal extended onto these new 3rd versions, but even so, it really helped both companies be on the cutting edge. Neato, huh?!
