notes to self
Before E leaves on thanksgiving for the long weekend in CA, I must have him go to the grocery store. I would *really* like to make a loaf or two of Lisa’s Orange-cranberry bread, and I need some oranges and cranberries to do that. I’ve got stuff to make Pumpkin bread (which I made last year for thanksgiving.) And then I need one or two things more for the dinner rolls I’m making for the family dinner. I’m supposed to be making Mom’s recipe, but the recipe doesn’t sound as yummy as I know they taste. They use 1 cup of sweet potatoes, so I’d need one of those. And I bet I’ll need milk by that time, too—so that I can have cereal during the long weekend!
I like the idea of the Buttery Pan Rolls, which would also be a good idea since I forgot to borrow muffin tins from mom, and so I only have one which would make it take FOREVER! Or even Unbelievable Rolls. Hmmm.
The nice bread ideas were something I thought of because Sarah was saying that her sister always makes a bunch of fresh breads, but she’s not getting any this year (family crap - they won’t let Leonard come over to their house, and S won’t go over there for thanksgiving since they won’t invite L to go too.) So I was thinking it would be really nice to have some fresh breads for her around the house for thanksgiving. Plus, I have more bread pans this year than I had last year, so it’ll be easier!
We’ll see how my energy level is the next few days!

There’s nothing quite like the smell of baking breads to lift my spirits. I’m glad it’s getting to be that time of year again. *hugs*

That pumpkin bread looks pretty good. I may have to try that out. I can just imagine the smells in there, no need for that baking candle.

I love fresh baked bread. Actually thinking of baking some myself. Hope the lazy funk I’ve been in for the last week doesn’t get in the way.

We had pumpkin bread yesterday, but it was a little bit different than that one. Ours had cream cheese frosting type stuff. It was nummers. I might have to try and make that recipe.
I hope you have a delicious holiday. ;)
