Amazon.com Launches Gourmet Foods Store—
Amazon launched its gourmet food store this week in its latest move to diversify from its core business of selling books and music, offering more than 30,000 regional food items from about 300 merchants, including foods from most states and ethnic offerings from many countries. There are more than 700 different cheeses alone.
Now don’t you think this could be really cool for Christmas gifts? Just search Amazon for everything, and ship food directly to the hard-to-shop-for relatives. I love it! Or even for harder to find baking things, like fancy Course Sugar. Rather than search all over the town (or web) to find somewhere that sells this, get it straight from Amazon.
Of course, I haven’t purchased very many gourmet foods from catalogs or online, but the few that I have have been very excitedly received.
