causes to help
There’s some people I’d really like to support, even if I don’t have a lot of money to share right now. So for now, I’ll support them with some links 
- Young Women’s Activism: because every girl is a goddess. This project is an effort by erika to involve some of her girls in a writing experience. The state won’t fund it, so Eka’s going out on a limb to get sponsors herself. Wonderful positive project.
- :melissa: is participating in the blogathon, supporting ALS (I’ve been able to help in the ALS arena over the last year or so by doing design and support for another ALS foundation, Ride For Life).
- Brandy is also participating in the blogathon, staying up for the 24 hours for First Book. We have such similar taste in books that I look forward to seeing what she’s gonna talk about.
I’m sure there are more friends doing the blogathon, but those are the ones I know of right now.

It’s not so much that the state WON’T fund as it is that they CAN’T fund it. They’ve slashed budgets like crazy, and we used to get funded through the Dept. of Health—which was cut in a serious way—which was then passed down to us.

Oh boy, is it Blogathon time again? I managed to do it last year, perhaps I’ll give it another try this year. I wonder why I didn’t get an e-mail about it.
