Weekly Wrap up 40
I saw that Lisa had done the weekly wrap-up, and then I saw it again on meredith’s blog, and it was really interesting questions, so I’m writing mine too
Weekly Wrap-Up: Weekly Wrap-Up #40 - To Blog or Not to Blog
- Why do you blog? Why do I blog? Because its a way to express my feelings and my thoughts. Because its the first way I found that fit my brainwaves well enough to keep doing it. Because I love that I found a way to combine my natural urge to share information in a place where people actually enjoy hearing. Because I started blogging, and it introduced me to some great people, and I liked that form of friendship so I knew I wanted to keep journalling to be part of an amazing network of people; ones I admire from afar, and ones who I have the joy of calling some of my best friends.
- What do you blog about? Why? Basically, my blog is a reflection of me and my interests. Some of the things I blog about are journal-like, and other things are weblog-like, which is why I like Jess’s describer of webjournalog because it fits me well. Some of my interests that I do blog about are web design and programming, tv/entertainment news, music, my family, health issues, and anything that catches my fancy at the moment!!
- Who is your primary blogging audience? Why? Well, I mainly blog for myself. But my audience beyond that tends to be the people in my sidebar, and for the people on my links list. The people who comment are particularly ones I point things out with them in mind. I guess if I had to pick a specific audience, I tend to lean towards woman around my age. Although I read more of a broad group, the readers I have tend to be more focused. But that’s quite a big generalization!
- What is your blogging philosophy? Why? Hmm, that’s a pretty deep thought. I enjoy writing and I enjoy reading what others write, and I enjoy knowing that others enjoy my writing. So I guess my philosophy is "Journal What is Enjoyable."
- Have you ever stopped blogging or considered ending your blog? Why? What happened? I’ve had things happen that have made me feel bad because of something I blogged, and that’s made me want to be more private with my thoughts. The only time I really stopped blogging was July of 2001 when my host TOTALLY screwed up my files so that I couldn’t even use Greymatter at all. I held onto the hope that they would restore my files, and while I waited, I used another space to journal a bit more privately. Because I enjoy journalling, I don’t forsee stopping anytime in the foreseeable future.
