washington apples
Did you know?
More than half of all apples grown in the United States for fresh eating come from orchards in Washington state.
from Core Facts. This weekend is the Apple Festival for my brother’s school and so apples are the thing right now - he’ll be making apple dumplings to sell as fundraiser (and they are SO good - we’ve bought them the last few years). I posted the apple cake recipe that we ate last weekend for my dad’s birthday

I spent my so-called formative years living smack dab in the middle of Washinton’s "apple country." Brewster, mostly. Sometimes smack dab in the middle of the orchards. I still like apples, for some reason...

Yummm! When we first moved to washington I ate so many apples that I actually couldn’t eat them for a year or two. One of the best things I bought myself lately was an apple corer.
