Reading notes
These are some notes that I put together from my reading over the last day or so...
I want to learn more about relaxing my mind while trying to fall asleep. This will make sleeping easier during the day, when so many tasks cloud my mind. This may include soft music and aromatherapy to help as well.
There are multiple forms of rest, and they are important to pacing to not just do the first, but the second as well.
- rest as a recovery technique = recuperative resting
- rest as a preventative measure = pre-emptive resting
There are multiple forms of rest for me, with the top being the most restful.
- Ideal Rest = sleeping in my bed
- Full Rest = laying in bed with my eyes closed
- Some Rest = laying in bed reading
- Rest from Sitting = laying on couch watching TV or playing
My day needs a combination of all of these. If I don’t take regular rests, I am too worn out to do the things I want to do.
This week’s Target:

Take rest periods
- How much will you do?
at least 15 minutes
- When will you do it?
twice a day - around 10AM and 3PM
- How often will you do it?
at least 4 of the 5 week days
I’m 85% sure that I can do this as long as I’m set on this schedule. Afternoon rest may be harder than in the morning.
