Friday Five: 032202

I’ve been a very bad meme-doer this week, but I wanted to write about seasons, so I’m doing a late friday five smile

  1. What is your favorite time of year?I love Spring. Not just because my birthday is in April, I just like it overall
  2. What is it about your favorite season that, well, makes it your favorite season? I love watching the trees start to bud aftering being cold and bare all winter. I like watching the daffodils pop out, and the greeness return to the grass. I like the feeling of rebirth - it seems to me that spring really is the start of the year for me - I really feel like the year is finally starting, and I have much to look forward to.
  3. What is your least favorite time of year? Why?The end of winter. I like the holiday seasons at the beginning of winter, but then when you get into the end of January-March when all it does is rain and be cloudy, and nothing really exciting happens during those month... it feels like a blah-filler time!
  4. Do you do anything to celebrate or recognize the changing of seasons?Holidays are the only real celebrations we have to change seasons. Winter always starts with Thanksgiving-Christmastime, Summer always begins with 4th of July and then Lisa’s birthday, Fall begins with going back to school, and Megan’s bday. And spring? Easter usually starts it off, and its in full swing by my birthday. You see how birthdays dominate my thoughts? I don’t know why, I think it just comes from wanting to have things to look forward to, and happy memories of celebrating birthdays for all us kids - now that there are 8 of us, its a lot of bdays!!!
  5. What’s your favorite thing to do outside?I’m not a big outdoorsy girl. But I love sight-seeing. Even if its just looking at the sites outside my window from the couch or on the way to work, I’m happy. It helps to have Mt. Hood be the focal point on the way to work smile smile smile I don’t garden (yet), and I really don’t hike or walk. So give me a bench near something pretty and its great smile
  6. BONUS: What are you doing this weekend? Even though I didn’t have anything exciting to add, I like having this as a question ;) I don’t have any real plans. I had a tiring week, and so I need some good rest. I got 9 hours straight of sleep last night - woo hoo - and so that’s a good start. My sisters are both still off of school, so maybe we’ll get together at some point before Meg goes back to WW. E and I have been looking at getting another hard drive for our computers to store MP3s, so maybe we’ll go out looking for this.
