clear type
Seeing things like the ClearType information page makes me wish for Windows XP. Its so neato to see how clear it can be!
And while you are on the MS Typography pages, you might wanna make sure you have all of the core fonts on your system. I try hard to stick to these fonts (as well as Tahoma and Verdana, which I think are standards through all systems) for the text of all of my designs

i love that option in windows xp. it gives css layouts using type as a background (like your white skin) a really polished, finished look. it’s even makes the task bar and the title bars on the windows look purdy
