weatherbug
This article was in our paper this morning Pretty cool that they are featuring a service that I’ve been using for at least 2-3 years! Its a little temperature gauge that sits in your systray. Right now, it says 45° and I can double click it for more info.
WeatherBug site is taking the Internet by storm
[WeatherBug] is the name of one of the hottest sources of weather information on the Internet and one of the most popular tools on the Web.
Gaithersburg-based WeatherBug has become the second-most-visited source of weather information on the Web, behind the site of cable television’s The Weather Channel, according to Internet analysts comScore Networks Inc. and Nielsen Net Ratings.

My mom’s used it for years, but I didn’t start until this past fall when it started getting so damn cold! It’s 47 degrees currently at my office. Brrr!

I’ve seen Weather Bug before, but I always use The Weather Channel’s service at work. Tried, true and dependable. But I know lots of people that have been using Weather Bug forever!

I like being able to see what the temp is like in the morning, before I go to work, right next to my time. I’ve been using it about 2 years, too! The thing that drives me mad is how the f'ing cricket won’t shut up when there’s an alert. But other than that, I love it!

Weatherbug is chock full of spyware, so I tracked down another, similar doohickey at theweatherchannel.com—does ostensibly the same thing, sans spyware.

Isn’t it the best thing? I’ve also used it a few years now. It has it all.

Yeah, weatherbug is spyware, but if you don’t mind that, it’s pretty neato. I decided to just put a Weatherpixie on my journal page.

What I minded was when WeatherBug sold my name and I started receiving junk e-mail to the address I’d given them. No thanks.

Weatherbug looks cool in principle but only covers USA (as far as I can tell). I found this little neat thing on BBCi http://www.bbc.co.uk/weather/screensaver/index.shtml might be worthwhile looking up if you are n the UK!

Weatherbug completely trashed my machine. I’m going through a complete reformat/reinstall of EVERYTHING to get rid of IT AND the things like GATOR that it installed w/o telling me. Piece of dishonest crap.
I suggest the anti spyware people should try this: DON’T remove spyware from the computer. Coopt it. Send in phony data. Carefully constructed phony data so the spies end up swamped by data that is useless, incorrect, and can’t be sold w/o lying to their commercial customer.

Also since I downloaded Weatherbug my screensaver is gone from my screen, what caused that.
Please answer, plus I would like your email address, so when I have questions I can write emails to Weatherbug Weather
