Silicon Valley - Dan Gillmor’s eJournal - Google Buys Pyra: Blogging Goes Big-Time
Google, which runs the Web’s premier search site, has purchased Pyra Labs, a San Francisco company that created some of the earliest technology for writing weblogs, the increasingly popular personal and opinion journals.
Wow. That’s a big deal. With the struggles Pyra has had, that’s got to be amazing for them. I’m still not sure what google gets out of the deal yet, but wow. I am really interested to see what happens next.
I started blogging at Blogger when they’d only been up and operational for 4 or 5 months. That makes me feel like a bit of a Trend-setter, someone who encouraged others to blog, and a "old" blogger. So I’ll always be grateful for the start I got at Blogger. Who knew weblogs would become such a big part of my life? (with MT forums and such).
Stay tune, I think this will get more interesting as more news unfolds!

Off-topic question... have you added a new script or plug-in or feature that enhances hyperlinks? I’ve noticed that the links are garbled in Safari, Apple’s new browser. In IE for Mac, the links are fine, but there’s this little colored box with an arrow in the corner and I’m not quite sur what it is.
Anyway, I’ve grabbed a screen capture and I’m sending it to you via email. I know you don’t have access to Safari, but since I move freely between PC and Mac, I can forward any Safari-related quirks.

And we thank you for all the help and MT support you give! Some of us would be blethering messes without you!

If it means that Blogger will be more reliable, I think we’re all for it.
