not so hot

I got lots of sleep last night. At least 8 consecutive hours, and then 4 after that. I’m still worn out, but at least my eyes are feeling a little less tired.

My dizzyness is getting worse - even when I’m sitting. Sometimes when I blink lately, it feels like I’m gonna fall over! Its a weird sensation.
It actually feels like I’m going in slow motion these days. Everything speeds around me, while I stand still, trying to make small steps toward where I want to be, but never quite keeping up. I can keep up with about one thing at a time, but never my whole life.

I’m sorry, I’m feeling a bit down today. I wish that wasn’t so cliche, given that I’m going off the antidepressents, but thinking that I’m not sure that’s what I wanted to do. I’m scared about my appointment this afternoon. Why is it that when I read things like this, I can relate to so many of the things? Am I just finding things where they aren’t? Am I going crazy?

Have you ever discussed Neurally Mediated Hypotension with your doctors? I was diagnosed with it in '96 after a tilt table test using the Johns Hopkins protocols. I used to have just about the only site on the 'net about it, until it got too much to me and I handed over the reigns to another CFS-related site. I’m on a drug called Pro-Amatine and I literally could not remain upright without it. My blood pressure drops drastically when standing/walking. There’s another more common drug called Florinef (used in combination with high-salt intake) but I’m allergic to it. NMH is very closely tied to CFS and FMS. If you’re having problems with dizzy spells it’s definitely an avenue to consider. I’m functional on Pro-Amatine, but I had constant fainting and black-out spells before they found something that worked.

I was diagnosed with Neurally Mediated Hypotension in April of 2000. I’m still tired all the time and have the worst time concentrating. I have fainting spells and blackouts, especially if I overdo something or get too hot. But since I know now what is wrong I’m able to control it a little better. I was prescribed Pro-Amatine and Florinef to help and it did. I was finally able to live a somewhat normal life. I could actually do things with my friends and not be exhausted. I had so much energy. I was alot happier too, which my doctor explained also that depression is another symptom of CFS and NMH. I even looked better and had "color" in my cheeks. Well, sorry to be rambling on and on but, I just wanted to let you know that you’re NOT going crazy and you’re not lazy either. And you’re definitely not alone.
I had a WONDERFUL doctor. He studied at John Hopkins and is a pediatric heart specialist. His name is Dr Hasan Abdallah if you’re able to locate him.
