Friday Five: 010402
Yay, another friday afternoon activity Thanks to friday five . org, where you can play too Cuz Heather rocks
- What was your first job? My first real job outside of working for my family was the summer I spent working at summer camp. I was 16, and it was a church camp I had attended the two previous summers as a camper. I was the assistant secretary for most of the summer and had more computer knowledge than the combined office staff even then ;) I’ll have to tell you the long version of this story someday. (one little mistake makes big change in job, and sad kristine). I volunteered at the library from 12-15 years old as someone who put books away and checked books in and processed new books. I worked as the assistant the the business manager at my high school during the school year after that. And I was the secretary for Locatis Leather (our family business) for every summer after that (until now).
- How old were you when you had your first kiss?
19. Yes, I didn’t have a boyfriend until I was 19. (I’ll have to tell you about him someday, too.) - 3. What was your first car? What happened to it?
Silver Honda Accord LXi, 1986 - I purchased it December 2000 and still don’t have my license. Its sitting outside my house and I say hi to it from the window every morning on my way do the stairs. I want to find a perfect name for it, actually I’ll be driving it around soon, with a little stuffed Marvin the Martian in the window - What was your first concert?
Geoff Moore and the Distance, 1995, my sophomore year. We drove to Othello (map) in the middle of nowhere and it was glorious. The group who opened sang Two Sets of Joneses (I can’t think of the band name right now). We were in the 4th row, and we sang at the top of our lungs along - How do you plan to spend your weekend?
Its Christmas at our house!!!! We are finally gonna have a chance to make it out shopping for our Christmas presents and exchanging stockings. Our trip out will include best buy, where we will most likely purchase a PDA for E and a CDRW for me, with some accessories. Then we’ll be using a gift certificate to visit Spaghetti Factory. E definitely wants to see Lord of the Rings. I don’t know where else, maybe Fred Meyer to get some storage boxes for packing my christmas stuff away in. So then late in the weekend, we’ll be putting the christmas decorations away. Between all that, I want to nap and work on my new domain development. And play games!
This version of F5 should be called guilty confessions, since several of these answers include things I’m not proud of. My summer events during my first job were a failure, my first boyfriend was a giant asshole and it was later in life than most people, and my first car was also later on in life. I don’t think too highly about this time span of my life (high school), and so these answers make me feel a bit funny. Very odd, huh....

I don’t think having your first boyfriend or kiss at nineteen is anything to be ashamed of... that’s how old I was when I had my first kiss
As for the guy being an asshole, well, that happens. My first 'boyfriend' was as well, but it was a "net thing" (which led me to my husband, so I can’t be entirely bitter) and I was lucky to not have it go to 'real life'. Boys. Bah!
