1. When do you put your Christmas/Hanukah decorations? - Somtime after thanksgiving. Probably not this weekend, but maybe next.
2. Do you prefer to use Christmas lights that are all one color, or do you go for the multi-color effect? - I love clear
3. Real tree or fake? - I’ve always had real tree. Two years ago, I was so sick we didn’t have one. E has always had fake trees (in California, of course, he had to!) But I’m thinking of caving. And buying a fake one. It would save SO many hassles. We’ll see.
4. Where do you get your tree? - Last year, we got it from the boyscouts at hischool pharamacy
5. Perfectly shaped tree, or one with character? - must be perfect!
6. Where do you put your tree? - We have a new house, so it’ll be a new spot. Probably in the corner between the futon and bookshelf.
7. Tinsel or garland? - tinsel
8. Blinking lights or solid lights on the tree? - solid
9. What sits on the very top of your tree? - A white and silver angel.
10. Eggnog or hot chocolate? - Hot chocolate... or eggnog ice cream
11. What does your family Christmas/Hanukah feast consist of? - Christmas Eve with my family usually is steak (prime rib or something nice) and potatoes and garlic bread.
12. What day do you typically hold your Christmas celebrations? - With my family, we spend Christmas Eve eating and being together and playing games. We open the presents from aunts and uncles (which aren’t very many now that we are older). Then Christmas morning, we go back to my parents house and open all the presents. When we are done, dad makes us breakfast, and we just hang out playing and stuff until mid-day. I’ll be spending my first Christmas with E’s family this year. So I’m not sure what to expect.
13. When do you open your presents? - E and I usually do presents to each other late on Christmas Eve. And then presents from the family on Christmas morning. I’m not sure how we’ll do it this year.
14. Do you open them all at once, or one by one? - Typically, I’m santa and hand out the presents on Christmas morning. We have a specific order (that I’ve always dictated!!!) and then we open them one at a time. I’m scared of going away and loosing my job of handing out after being gone this year. :pout:
15. Favorite Christmas movie? - "White Christmas"
16. Favorite Christmas song? - Carol of the Bells
17. Do you have any family holiday traditions that you partake in each year? - Just everything above. No big deals, since its just the 8 of us. Sometimes, Matthew and Lisa and E and I will play games on Christmas Eve together, because we are the 4 game kids - this usually is Life or Monopoly or something fun like that.
18. For New Year’s Eve, do you go out, or stay in?- So far, I’ve always been in. I’m not a big party girl! For most of my teen years, I spent new years eve entering in inventory numbers to get them done before the new year started with work. Last year, E was way sick, and so I spent the evening cleaning up after him. The year before last, we stayed up for some of the milleneum celebrations, and he proposed to me the next morning
