A rainy morning here in Washington state - the first after a big dry spell. The was a big accident out on the hwy in front of our house - I couldn’t see it, but I heard all of the sirens and the traffic was way backed up. So we came the back way to take me to work, and it was all beautiful and green and rainy. The rain brings out the greenness in the trees, which makes me smile in awe of the beauty of this beautiful place I live. Its not supposed to rain for too many days right now, so I appreciate it and am even happy to see it. It means I get to wear my happy yellow sweater this morning over my t-shirt!

There are a lot of things I don’t miss from Washington, like busy freeways and the high price of housing...
but I do miss the early morning look after a night sprinkle. It’s the weeks of grey skies that get you down.
The funny thing about being in Kansas City is that when it rains, I enjoy it, but everyone here complains. [grin]
It’s been way to hot here this summer.
