dripdrop shawl pattern

dripdroppdf-thumb.jpg

The dripdrop shawl is a rounded wrap featuring drop stitches in meshy areas and long droplets. The bottom edging has a light ripple, like the water is pooling down. It can easily be worn with a shawl pin or open, as the gradual shaping allows it to skim close to the body.

Exciting techniques you'll learn:
  • drop stitches in multiple configurations
  • making 3 stitches out of one in the base of a drop stitch
  • rounded edge enhanced by blocking
  • knitting from the top down

One size fits all.

Materials Needed:
  • Size 7 (4.5mm) circular needle with 32" cable
  • stitch markers (optional)
  • blocking pins
  • 115g fingering weight yarn. Suggested: Sweet Georgia Yarns Superwash Sock (400 yards)
  • Gauge: 18 stitches x 28 rows over 4" in stockinette, unblocked
