good news, bad news
Good News: The possibility of my library branch closing had me in tears, in this post. We found out on Monday that it’s been saved for another year with some careful budget rearranging and cooperation of the mall. (press release) Phew!
Bad News: My great job with Six Apart came to an end on Tuesday when they made cuts, discussed in this post. Even though it was only part time right now, I have always loved this company and had hoped I could continue on in even this small way. I’m sad, but still love Six Apart, so it’s hard to be mad at them!
Good News: I’m making great progress on my Christmas knitting. 🙂
Overall News: We have been getting ready for a trip to California for thanksgiving to see E’s family. Hopefully to see friends, too.
There are so many blessings in my life, I’m really trying to concentrate on them and remind myself that when a door closes, another door may open.
I’m so sorry to hear that you had to leave. It’s been a tough week for all of us, and the reality is slowing taking grip. It was a pleasure to work with you and see you in the office when you visited. Thank you for your hard work and wonderful personality!

I read that post about the 6A cuts and all I could think about was how hard that must be. Everyone I’ve ever come in contact with from 6A has been consistently kind, helpful and friendly, including yourself. I’m sorry you have to part ways with them for the time being. I hope you will still be regularly using your Vox account (I hope it won’t be too weird for you). I know I don’t comment often, but I really do enjoy reading your Vox updates. They are somewhere between Cute Overload, Martha Stewart, and Wired Magazine. A nice combination for me.
Best wishes for the future and a big hug for the part of this transition that sucks. You never cease to impress me at how multifaceted, talented and well rounded you are. Enjoy your upcoming vacation, remember you are more than just your job, and I’m sure you will find the next right fit soon enough.
I’m so sorry to hear that you’re no longer at 6A. You were a big part of Vox! I’m sure there’s bigger and better things out there for you!
Oh Kristine I’m so sorry. I know how much you enjoyed your job. They were so lucky to have you and I’m sure they’ll welcome you back with open arms once business gets better. You hang in there. *hugs*
