America in the 30s: on film, in print, on the air. Even though I’ve got years of rina-doll telling me how much she loves the films in these eras, I particularly enjoyed building the Chrysler Building. Somehow, I’ve always been fascinated by skyscrapers. The Empire States Building is my favorite, but the Chrysler Building will always have a special place in my heart. The first trip I made to NYC, we really didn’t know much about the town, but my best friend and I wanted to see as much as possible. So we walked around Manhattan for hours - and one of the places we knew was famous that we thought we should see was the Chrysler Building. But we had no idea what it looked like, so we went to the address where it should be, and couldn’t find it. After walking around the block a few times, we finally saw the sign that was on the side of the huge building we’d been walking around - THAT was the Chrysler Building! And all this time, this was the building we could see directly out our hotel room window So I most definitely recognize it now, I can’t forget it after that experience!
