seen on nicole hindes blog, this is glorious and makes me want to learn a little crochet.

This pattern is SO well written, I was able to sit down and cast on with only a small amount of crochet knowledge, but never motifs with multiple tiers before. Love it!

I watched the movie and then got a chance to read the book, thanks to a loan from my friend Leslie. I enjoyed it a lot, especially just having the movie pictures in my head.

I'm actually glad I got to do it in this order because the actors added a lot (in my opinion) to the characters. The book didn't much storywise to that in the movie.

I enjoyed the descriptions of the vampire glittering. And the romanticness gave me goosebumps and made me read faster than normal. :)

The hardest part of this project was stringing the beads. But once I got moving, I finished in several days! I watched two days of Chuck DVDs separated by how many days it takes netflix to send them (tuesday, then saturday, I think).

I was thinking of making this to sell, but it’s so luxurious, now I may keep it!

Started during Christmas 2009 vacation to CA. Wound yarn on Eileen’s ball winder and swift before thanksgiving.

used size 10 needles and didn’t quite get guage so I did 19 repeats instead of 27.

bound off, Jan 14; blocked, Jan 15; fringed, Jan 16 and 17.

Old Note: This is my favorite use of entralec, and I love the fringe. Someday, I’ll be making it for myself. I’ll buy the book just to be able to make it, I’m sure of it.

froot loops

CO 12 with Judy’s Magic Cast on. first time without looking at the instructions! increasing to 36/72.

finished toe, will do 5 repeats of pattern over 35 stitches on top, stockingette on bottom of foot.

Started increase for heels too late, using Cat Bordhi’s Sidestream increase. Did math to figure out how many rows the increases needed. Forgot to account for length of heel flap! Remembered that Fleegle Heel didn’t require heel flap, so did that instead of real Sidestream heel.

Past the heel and keep trying on to make sure it’s not too tight after heel. It may be a little loose instead of tight, but I think it will be okay. I did NOT start doing froot loops on the back of the sock, I’m going to do a ribbing instead, but higher up and gradually.

Making for Christmas 2009. Instead of 3 solid colors, I’m using 2 solids and one multi, which adds a nice random touch.

I need to learn to weave in ends as I go better, it took almost an hour of weaving for the first half, but there’s nice edges to weave them into so it made it a nicer process than normal.

Learned to knit backwards for easier working of the straps. A few more ends to weave in, and then blocking. Weighed yarn to see how much was used to see if the 2nd hat can be the same colors (yes, it will).
