This is a beautiful book with a large variety of socks in it. I was excited to see Star Athena in the book because I took a class from her at Sock Summit. The book design itself is stellar, too, with multiple pictures of each sock and clear text. My favorite was the "Make-Up Socks" because of their interesting work on the back of the sock.

p29 "Knitting (on two needles) is flat, while crochet is 3-dimensional' this is odd because there are plenty of things outside of 2D that knitting can do on straights. and this is the philsoohy for the book designs. kinda seems like antiknitter propaganda. short rows, anyone?

stitch dictionaries are important for me, helping me create somethingg interesting and (as strange as it sounds) unique. seems like the more diverse of a stitch knowledge I have, the more my imagination can go wild. this is a beautiful book, like the others in the series, and it's the first crochet one in the series. I particularly like the motifs and squares they show, it's a different selection than I've seen before. this is going on my wishlist!

this was quite delightful. I anticipates it to be more about various sweater patterns but it was really the holy-grail it's kinda like following a year long blog where the author discusses her giant challenge and intermixed interviews. one thing that was a joy for me - I read a lot of knitting blogs andso most of the people mentioned were familiar. made me feel a little part of the story personally.
