My dreams were really weird last night. Every time I reached a certain part of my dream, I'd have to rollover and in my dream, since the chorus to the Nelly Furtado song "Turn off the lights". The super odd thing was, I heard that song yesterday for only the first or 2nd time, so I don't know why I singled out that song in my dreams! So I found it and downloaded it this morning - yep, the same one in my dream! So I'm listening to it on repeat because its so thouroughly stuck in my head!.
Yesterday morning, I was so unambitious. I had some specific things I wanted to accomplish, but I couldn't seem to do them. I just sat here, staring at the screen. I got a teeny bit done, but nowhere near what I was hoping to do. I did take a 2 hour nap, which made me happier. E laid there with me until I fell asleep, and then he ended up falling asleep too! So I got to have the pleasure of waking him up when I finally slowly drifted from dreamland to real life :)
E wanted to go and use some of our gift certificates yesterday. Unfortunately, I haven't seen the large purple clear registry envelope where our gift cards are since we moved. We went through every box in the closet and garage looking for them. Our office looks like a tornado hit, so I'll have to do some cleaning now. No luck... So I'm not sure where they are. Its okay, its nothing that we needed instanteously or anything, but I'm sure curious where they went.
So after stressing about that for a while, E decided that we needed to do something fun for me. So I decided that we had to get dressed and go to Red Robin (its all Khara's fault, she talked about it all week!) Omigod, it was the best meal I've ever had. I had the Teriaki (I have no idea how to spell that!) Chicken Burger (my very fav thing there). Its a chicken breast marinated perfectly with pinapple slices, lettuce, and swiss cheese melted on top, in a perfect bun. Served with bottomless steak fries (with their new ranch dipping sauce) and unlimted cherry coke... the most perfect cherry coke of anywhere in town because they put cherry syrup in it and don't skimp at all and they usually put cherrys on top. I think I ate 10 cherrys yesterday!!!! Oh goodness, it was so delicious!!! Made my mood go up to a happier level :)|
Then, we headed over to Bed, Bath, and Beyond because we had an anniversary gift card from one of E's parents friends to spend. He'd been looking at an icy maker for a while, and so we go that and the syrups to go with. I got some new airbake cookie sheets, and bundt pan, because there are some cakes that you just have to make in a bundt pan (now I just have to find some recipes!). More chip clips. A 9.99 bathroom scale so I can start tracking my weight. A new ice cream scoop - this time one that's dishwasher save because the last one which was perfect and wonderful from Tupperware got rust spot on it from being in the dishwasher ::pout::. So that was a very successful trip :-)
E's graphics card is wearing out, so we went over to CompUSA to see what their choices were. They only had crap, so we looked around at other fun stuff. Games, CD-R's, laptops for Megan, monitors (E got a better deal at Best Buy last weekend!). It was fun :)|
It was still early, so we hopped on over to Blockbuster to get some stuff to watch. Vertical Limit has been out for a while now, and I wanted to see it. (Matthew liked it). So we got that, and browsed through the old releases for something else, and found Three to Tango, which I'd also been wanting to see for a while - with Matthew Perry and Neve Campbell. I love him. I found my copy of Fools Rush In while I was cleaning, and was about to make E watch that again... but I went with Three to Tango instead ::giggle:: We stopped and got milk, bread, Life, and Frosted Shreaded Wheat so we'd have breakfast this morning (totally out of everything!), and then cuddled on the couch for the next 4 hours while watching movies. Ahhhhhhhh!!! :)
So I'm up and writing instead of being productive, but that's okay. I like writing.
I got sidetracked reading my daily reads. Not too many exciting things to report - but Jenni has a really nice lavendar redesign :)
Server status: I waited 8 days for them to get the backup from their NOC for the 2 files that were corrupted (gm-entrylist, which has a complete listing of all of my entries, and gm-counter, which tells gm how to process entrylist, I think), and they fucked it up. They got backups from July 5th. Get your heads out of your asses and read my fucking requests - July 1st was the last day before their server outage. When their server went down, I was posting, and it overwrote those two files. Entrylist is huge, and I have a backup, but its from a month ago, and I'll have to manually figure out how to add the entries from a whole month so that my archive listing will be correct and so it will work again. I don't just want to say Oh Well and start again. I suppose I could, but I've worked so hard in tracking everything and journalling my life for the last 8 months in that program.... its probably 550 entries in it, and my last backup has 475, I think? So basically, I'm screwed. The jerks at tech support aren't being helpful at all. So I have two choices. Rebuild the file from my backup, try to save the entries and the database as I want to OR start from scratch with a new copy of GM. Either way, I'm changing hosting companies. Maybe I'll do it next weekend. It will be soon. Probably to Aletia. From everything I've read, they'll met my needs the best right now. I've read a lot of positive reviews of them, and several other people who are currently with NMF are going to switch to them too.|
|Well, I've been up for an hour and a half now, and with the excepting of updating the silveringrid links page and reading blogs & emails and typing this, I haven't done much! So now I'm gonna open up the files I'm supposed to be working on and see if I can get a start on todays projects. No sun this morning, I think I'll keep my butt in this chair for quite a few hours to come. Except that maybe I'll cook lunch/dinner for E at some point - I'd really like to make some chocolate chip cookies - think I can drag myself away from the computer for long enough to do that?! :)
